Missional Concepts Consulting
Wednesday, 11 July 2007

Phil Wyman and I are forming a consulting group called Missional Concepts Consulting. Our vision is to help leaders, non-profit organizations, businesses, churches, and community groups to navigate the difficult to follow and often misunderstood world of New Religious Movements (NRM's), and similarly to help give guidance toward becoming missional in the 21st century.

Missional Concepts Consulting has the following goals:

  • Mapping popular trends in the occult and NRMs among youth and adults
  • Allaying fears and misunderstandings surrounding unique religious expressions
  • Giving sensitivity training toward religiously diverse individuals and groups
  • Identifying legitimate concerns attached to occult practices
  • Understanding the worldview and the subculture of NRMs
  • Creating an effective evangelistic and apologetic model towards the occult and NRMs.

We will be making ourselves available to denominational groups, churches, schools, and any group or organization which has concerns about the rise of NRMs and desires to form a healthy response to those who are involved with them.

Although New Religious Movements are our specialty, we  also will be working to help churches navigate the  issues of defining what it means to be missional in the 21st century.  Both of us are pastors with a passion for developing missional Jesus-followers. However, we also have a deep desire to help churches and other organizations do what we've focused on for years--develop strategies for Jesus-followers to connect with the spiritual marketplace that has enveloped them.

If we can assist your church, organization, parachurch group, or educational institution, or if you know of any others who you think might be interested in our services, please don’t hesitate to contact me through the contact form above, or Phil at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

God bless you guys. This really needs to be done.I guess you guys have been tested by enough opposing religious entities that you are either numb enough or conditioned enough, or perhaps a bit of both, to take on the task of bringing reconciliation and understanding where there is little. Folks, DON"T TRY THIS ONE AT HOME!!!!

I personally connect with the 'Giving sensitivity training toward religiously diverse individuals and groups' description. Religiously diverse individual that I am, I want everybody to learn to be more sensitive to me. smilies/wink.gif

Seriously, you guys have my prayers. I think we can probably work together at some point.

Sounds good. If you get a website for this consulting group, let me know and I'll link to it from my blog. I can't link to anything new from the Ancient Faith Ministries site until I get our board better organized and start voting on some things. So much to do, and so precious little time....

Came over from Matt's site...thank you both for this. I will be hoping that there will some opportunity to interact concerning an appropriate understanding (theology?) of Spiritual Warfare--what it is and what it is not--as well as some more help on how to properly discern proper utilization of alternative medicine methodologies (starting with an appropriate theology of health?).

This is a big task you are undertaking. Be blessed as you go out to serve.

Peggy,

Thanks for stopping by from Matt's place, and for the support.

Phil and I have blogged a bit about spiritual warfare. But there's a lot more to be said, and that will be an important aspect of consultancy. If you're interested, some of my thoughts are found here, with a link to oen of Phil's posts:

I have a similar passion for seeing my generation live missionally so we can change this culture! If you know of people living missionally, send me their stories!
