I blog for the interaction, learning, and friendship that comes from putting my heart and mind out in public and the privilege of people responding through comments. Though there may be 100 reasons why people blog, I've yet to meet a blogger who doesn't appreciate comments. For this reason I'm starting Blog Comment Day on December 3, 2008. Here's how it works:
That's it. Simple, right? Where to from here?
Thanks for helping to make the blogosphere a more conversational place!

Have you thought about making this a Facebook event? I'm not sure what that entails, exactly, but it could generate a bit more publicity.

Kay,
Thanks, and thanks for mentioning it at your place! 14

Cameron,
That's an excellent idea. I haven't created a Facebook Event before, but I'll give it a shot. I'm hoping others will be kind enough to put it on their blogs as well, as you and others have done today because I think it will be most visible that way. 16

Man.... sometimes I think you must live in some sort of alternative universe where there are 10 days in the week rather than the usual 7. (you know... 3 for blogging) I find that great slabs of time go by and I suddenly remember to see what JJ has been up too. Usually good thought provoking / conversation encouraging stuff.
This internet phenomenon has ramifications that aren't all that clear yet. Really interesting. I mean, there's billions of us and everyone has an opinion.... everyone has a voice now. Everyone's talking but is anyone listening? Are opinions being cheapened by all this? (you know... "my truth and your truth"). I'm still processing all this in my own mind.... but I DO KNOW that I don't have time to start seeking out even more blogs that I'm unfamiliar with so that I can flop down my latest comment for the world to see. 25

Hi Julie,

Ross Hyland,
I don't live in an alternative universe, just one where I spend my time differently than you when it comes to social networking Remember that book you told me back awhile ago about wisdom of crowds or something like that? I wonder what that has to say about the internet? 28
November 19, 2008
Hi Heather,
Thanks for mentioning this on your blog and participating! 29

I think the current internet trends offer the chance to pull the rug out from under feet of the social engineers and opinion makers we have sufferd for so long in the media....(news and current affairs shows, even famous Christians etc). Maybe if I could just learn to type faster...... ![]() 31

I think, for better and worse, we are living through a revolution in media. As before, we just need to filter through the good with the bad. 37

Kate,
It means all the more to me that you commented here and are participating since it gives you anxiety. I've had a lot of people tell me that about commenting, so you're in good company. If you're up to it, I'd be curious knowing more what makes you anxious about commenting ![]() 45

Hi Jon,
You pipped me I first made a post in my blog http://www.evolveever.com/2008...ffirm.html on 11/08 and started using 'U Comment I Follow' logo with every post thereafter. On 12/01, I created a group http://www.facebook.com/home.p...593&ref=mf Constructive Commenters' Community [CCC] for Facebook friends. The invitation is open yet, for all. I have been commenting frequently even on my first visit to site thereafter to campaign. If I had not stumbled on Graham's post at Entrecard, I probably would have missed the 12/03 event. I've submitted entry for the contest there. I've reason to not !!lol. I'm heading to trackback straightaway. Thanks for launching this. And please send folks to Facebook group, as a small favor to newbie!![]() 148
