It's coming up on Thanksgiving in the US. I know this isn't a holiday that is celebrated elsewhere, but I think pausing to think of what your thankful for is worth doing anytime, anyplace.

So I'm starting a meme about thankfulness. Here's how works:

1. Write down five things that you're thankful for.
2. Tag five friends who you'd like to see participate in this meme.
3. (Optional) Include a link to this post and encourage others to place a link to their completed meme in the comments section of this post so we can keep track of the thankfulness running around the blogosphere.

1. People in my life, including God, who love me.
2. Hope.
3. Possibility.
4. Laughter.
5. Hugs.

I'd appreciate reading everyone else's answers below--or post them to your blog. The tagging only five people thing with memes is a rule worth breaking.

Did you know that Martin Seligman and company at the positive psychology center at U Penn have empirically demonstrated that writing down, every day, three things that went well, and *why* they went well, causes a sustained increase in happiness? How kewl is that?
