5 Things I Dig About Jesus Meme PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Blogging posts come, and blogging posts go. But because of the "popular" module in my blogging platform, Joomla, I'm able to let readers vote--without likely being conscious that they're voting--on which of my posts are worth keeping around at the top of this blog.

The post that has been number one for months is Be Like Jesus. I wrote it about five months ago, and much to my surprise it's been read over ten thousand times. 

If I could have picked any post I've written to have received this attention, it would have been this one. It's my fear that the living Jesus has been obscured by Christians and popular culture. It's time that Jesus-followers focus on getting out of Jesus' way and letting him speak for himself.

What I want to do is start a meme called 5 Things I Dig About Jesus. Here's how it will work:

  1. Those tagged will share 5 Things They Dig About Jesus.
  2. Those tagged will tag 5 people.
  3. Those tagged will leave a link to their meme in the comments section of this post so everyone can keep track of what's being posted.
That said, I'll start by posting my five based on part of my Be Like Jesus post.
  1. Jesus did amazing things for people and then asked them to not tell anyone.
  2. Jesus hung out with the most despised, marginalized, looked down upon, and shunned people he could find.
  3. Jesus empowered people to do the extraordinary.
  4. Jesus broke human-made religious laws. He repeated this constantly.
  5. Jesus lived in a way that provoked gossip.
